The
choir sings every Sunday morning at the 11am service in the Great
Hall. Our repertoire is very varied and includes both traditional
choral settings as well as modern anthems and worship songs.
Rehearsals
take place at 10am before every service and also immediately after
the service on the first Sunday of the month. We are always looking
to recruit new members, so why not come along to the platform room
(immediately behind the Great Hall stage) at 10am and try us out. We
do not require perfect sight reading skills – just a desire to
worship God through music and the ability to sing in tune. You can
sing in the rehearsals for a few weeks and, if we’re all happy, you
will be able to sing in the services
after this trial period.
The most
important thing is that we are able to sing together in an
environment of worship and fellowship. We strive very hard to make
our rehearsals reflect this aim.
All Age Worship
Four
Sunday mornings during the year are devoted to All Age Worship (see
events section for precise dates). These services are very exciting
as many different groups from the church family take part. The music
reflects this diversity and the children from JC Live take part,
often singing with the choir. We use modern worship songs as well as
traditional hymns that are often accompanied by an excellent worship
band.
